Early Morning Vehicle Accident Kills One

Spring, TX (Montgomery County Monitor) - At approximately 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning, a one car accident claimed the life of a man from Spring, TX. His vehicle was traveling on the southbound IH-45 feeder road near Oak Ridge Drive when the accident occurred.
Witnesses told DPS troopers the vehicle was traveling in the far right-hand lane of the feeder when it swerved to the left across all lanes of traffic. The vehicle then traveled back across all three feeder lanes to the right where the back wheel of the vehicle left the road causing the vehicle to roll.
According to DPS, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. He was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover, causing traumatic injuries.
An initial request for an air ambulance was later canceled.
The patient, Richard Duane Otts, 24 years of age, was transported by ground to Memorial Hermann, The Woodlands, where he was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m.
