Published by Foz on 11/13/2008
The Woodlands, Texas (Montgomery County Monitor) - Just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning, a Woodlands resident discovered a body floating face down in the water at Deer Rush Pond Park. The park is located near the intersection of Rush Haven Drive and Spotted Deer Drive in the southern part of The Woodlands, Texas.

Lt. Andrew Eason of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office stated, "we recovered the body, an unidentified white male....the case is still under investigation."

The victim did not appear to have any obvious, potentially lethal trauma.

The body was removed from the scene and an autopsy will be performed shortly to determine the cause of death.

Eason said more information would be released when it becomes available.

In a written statement released Thursday afternoon, a spokesperson from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said, "The unidentified white male appeared to be in his early 20’s."

The statement also said, "the primary focus of the investigation is identifying the male."

An additional statement released Thursday evening stated, "The male is a white male, approximately 20-25 years of age, approximately 230lbs and 6 ft tall. The male was wearing a silver necklace, bracelet and silver ring on his left hand of a scorpion."

More information may be released once a cause of death is established.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Dan Zientek with the Major Case Squad at 936-760-5876 or Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at (800) 392-STOP (7867).
