Spring, Texas (Montgomery County Monitor) - At approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday evening, members of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Special Operations Group Tactical Unit, shot and wounded two robbery suspects behind the James Coney Island restaurant located at 521 Sawdust Road.

Officers received information of a possible future burglary attempt at the restaurant and surveilled the area Friday evening.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, two males ran towards the manager of the restaurant when the manager stepped outside at the back of the building.

The males had covered their faces and brandished a firearm. Tactical Team members ordered the suspects to drop their weapons and lay on the ground.

The press release goes on to say the suspects failed to comply and displayed a handgun towards the officers. Officers then fired on and hit both suspects.

No officers were injured.

The suspects were both transported by ground to Ben Taub Hospital.

Three other suspects were detained while attempting to leave the area.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office as well as the Texas Rangers are investigating this incident.
