While emergency crews worked to clear the Woodlands Parkway scene, another tree was blown down in the westbound lanes of Lake Woodlands near Golden Shadow Circle. This time, the tree fell across the driver-side of a passing vehicle. The tree caused heavy damage to the driver's compartment, but it appears the driver only received minor injuries. She was transported non-emergency to a local hospital.
Residents living near the accident scene heard a falling tree and then a car crashing. They rushed out of their backyards and found the vehicle. The driver had pulled herself from the car. A passing motorist with a chainsaw cut the tree to help clear the roadway.
Firefighters from The Woodlands Fire Department and Medics from the Montgomery County Hospital District arrived on scene and provided patient care to the driver.
Both scenes were eventually cleared and the roadways were re-opened.
