Site News > New Event Map Feature Now Available
Published by Foz on 8/9/2007
Montgomery County Monitor (Montgomery County, TX) - A new feature has been added to the Montgomery County Monitor. Visitors to our site are now able to use satellite imagery to view the location of incident scenes. We feel this feature will enhance visitors understanding of scene locations as well as provide an education about different parts of Montgomery County, Texas.

When warranted, all future news stories will contain a link to the satellite imagery section of this site. The satellite imagery section is officially called "Event Map". This section, which uses the google map interface, can be accessed at any time to view the location of past scenes by clicking on Event Map in the left hand Main Menu located on most pages of the site.

Once in the Event Map section, visitors will be able to click on location balloons which will provide some basic information about each incident. When available the information provided in this section will direct visitors to other informational items such as news stories, pictures and videos.

In the Event Map section visitors will also be able to switch between map view, satellite view and a hybrid view as well as zoom in and out of the chosen locations.

Feel free to play around with this new feature.
