On 10/08/08 a Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Victim Witness Coordinator received a phone call from an individual identified as Dwight Dale Laesser, w/m 04//20/61. Laesser stated that he was upset and in a depressed state because his estranged wife was divorcing him and he was under a Protective Order preventing him from seeing her. He indicated that it was the Coordinator's fault and no piece of paper is going to stop him. He then hung up.
A short time later the same Sheriff's Office employee received a phone call from Laesser's wife. The wife stated she had received a call from him and that he had threatened to harm her, her family, and officers of the court where the divorce proceedings were to take place.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit checked Laesser's background and found he had an outstanding warrant for Violation of a Protective Order. Detectives then began to actively search for Laesser and BOLOS were aired with his description and vehicle information.
On 10/10/08 Laesser was seen by an off duty officer in Harris County. The officer called for assistance and Harris County Pct. 4 Officers responded. They attempted to stop Laesser but he refused and a pursuit ensued. Approx. 1 hour later Laesser was taken into custody by Harris County Officers. He is being held without bond at this time.
