On Thursday, September 4, 2008, @ approximately 10:30 AM, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit served a narcotics search warrant at a residence located in the 500 block of Weeping Willow Way, Magnolia Texas.
The SIU had received TIPS that the listed suspects were trafficking high grade Hydroponic marijuana. The SIU established probable cause for a search warrant which was issued by Justice of the Peace Trey Spikes. During the search of the residence, hydroponic marijuana, electronic scales, and packaging for marijuana were recovered. SIU investigators also recovered $11,000 in U.S. Currency that was hidden in a recliner. The suspects of this investigation where associated with an earlier SIU investigation were 28 pounds of hydroponic marijuana was seized in The Woodlands.
Hydroponic marijuana has more potent THC content compared to marijuana that's grown outdoors. This style of marijuana is more expensive to purchase and retails for around $3500 a pound compared to $450 a pound for marijuana imported from Mexico. Hydroponic marijuana is becoming more popular with high school and college age abusers. California and Canada are the primary sources for this type of marijuana. Evidence recovered at the scene show connections to California. This investigation is on going.
Arrested and charged with Money Laundering F-3 and Possession Marijuana 2- 4 ounces MA.
