Murder Investigation UPDATE
July 31, 2008
On July 30, 2008, at approximately 6:00 PM, Detectives with the MCSO Major Crimes Squad arrested Brian Lee Winterbauer (w/m 06/02/86) for the murder of Jerry Dean Denslow (age 50).
The victim's truck was recovered by detectives on Monday, July 28, 2008, at a rental complex located in the 7 Coves Subdivision. Winterbauer became a person of interest after the vehicle was recovered.
Detectives worked tirelessly throughout the week following-up leads, conducting door to door interviews and examining evidence.
Winterbauer was arrested for murder after an accumulation of evidence and interviews provided detectives with enough information to make an arrest. Winterbauer was remanded into the custody of MCSO Jail Personnel.
It appears that the motive for the murder was an argument that escalated to violence and the victim was shot. The investigation continues. Winterbrauer lived near the victim.
Winterbauer is also being held on an Order of Arrest on the prior charge of Burglary of a Habitation. There is no bond set on that charge.
