I actually saw this one. Sorry no pics, just a coincidence I was there. It happened in the rear entrance off of Budde. The vehicle appeared to be a full sized white panel van as used by a painter or electrician. It appeared to be minor, but the driver made it in pretty far.

About 5:20 p.m. this evening a vehicle collided with Wachovia Bank at 9595 Six Pines in The Woodlands.

The collision was forceful enough to cause structural damage to the building.

Unclear on injuries but occupants were reported out of the vehicle when the first emergency personnel arrived on-scene.

Around 12:45 p.m. today radio traffic indicated a vehicle drove completely into the Kobe Restaurant on Sawdust.

It did not appear that anyone was injured.

Why wouldn't they record the tapes onto disk before re-using? I would think they would better protect themselves with that as a backup?!?!
I guess that would just mean more cost for disk, storage for them and someone to do all the transferring. It just boggles the mind as to why it's not a wireless feed to the police dept. anyways, but I'm simple minded and probably overlook the obvious reasonings. Hopefully ManlyMom did get what she requested..

Thank you, and I will def be looking something up. I have scanners all over my house not including the live scanner feed here or the one in my vehicle; yes, I'm a scanaholic with nothing better to do...and I guess I would probably be better off recording my scanner, but alas I'm not that savvy. I will def do some searching though, and thanks for your quick reply.

Hiya

A few months ago I did a fairly thorough search to try to find software in which to record the scanner feeds directly from the website.

It seems most if not all of the software is geared towards recording songs not continuous feeds.

However since I do record the feeds directly from the scanners before they are sent over the internet, the need for me to find a software program for recording the feeds is a low priority.

I know listeners to the feed would love to be able to record it for times when they are unable to listen directly to the feeds.

Please feel free to search for a program capable of recording the feeds. Other visitors to the site would appreciate the effort.

As far as legality, the audio recording can be requested via the Public Information Act (we have received Dispatch audio traffic from a request) so I would imagine it is legal for a citizen to record the audio.

Thanks MyTgr8ful

An update on this issue would be nice ManleyMom if you are up to it.

I wanted to point out an issue you may you may have already run into or may run into ManleyMom.

We attempted to get some in-car video from a case in which a prisoner slipped his cuffs and stole an MCSO Patrol vehicle. In order to further understand why it turned out to be so difficult to obtain this information from the MCSO, we requested a copy of the in-car video policy for the MCSO. Unfortunately, it seems, the Sheriff's Office actually reuses videotapes many times, thus erasing the original captured video.

This 90 day erasure policy can cause a problem when attempting to obtain video from the MCSO.

You can read the Policy HERE

This policy could potentially make it necessary to ask for the video once each day in order to prevent it from being destroyed.

Add another project to the list

Last night radio traffic indicated at least one more dumpster fire and at least another fire of a small structure/shed in the South County area.

A suspect was detained and taken into custody.

A press conference which was scheduled for this morning was canceled after the arrest of this suspect.

More information about the suspect should be released soon.

See original Press Release.

We will post the updated Press Release as soon as it is available.

UPDATE: 3:20 p.m.

See Updated Press Release with Suspect Information

What else happened with this? Did the request get sent and addressed? FOZ, I admire your tenacity in helping, following up and following thru. Good job!

Is there any way to record the scanner feeds, and is it legal?
